No More Movies For Toby Keith!

It’s been about four years since we’ve seen a movie from Toby Keith and there’s a reason behind that. He’s done acting…for good! But why has this country bad boy thrown in the towel?

Toby Keith’s Locked & Loaded… With his starring role in Broken Bridges and his writing credit for Beer For My Horses, country fans are wondering…where has Toby Keith been on my big screen?

“When I did the movies, it affected my writing,” he tells the Country Vibe. He felt as though his acting was getting in the way of making great, hit country music and the return just wasn’t worth it. With all the time he put into movies and screenwriting, the time wasn’t worth its weight in gold.

“I got little or no bang, you know songs get heard on the radio forever but movies are like here and then they’re gone.  They’re not re-currents. You heard the song today and then you hear it tomorrow and then ten years from now you’ll still hear it every once in a while, but you’ll hear it more than you’ll see that movie replay.  There’s just not enough bang for my buck to waste that much time into a project,” Keith says.

The good news is, we can always expect new, great tunes from Toby with his new focus on great songwriting.
